If there are certain songs or styles of music that you do not
want played at your wedding, make sure you write them down and let your DJ know.
Make sure that your DJ does not display large banners as
advertising. This day is all about you!
Provide your DJ with a copy of your wedding itinerary. Your
timeline will help the entire evening flow smoothly and stay on schedule. For
example, if you want the first dance at 6:00pm and to cut the cake at 8:00pm, he
will be able to announce these events to the guests so that you are not running
behind schedule. Ask the DJ if he can come get you before he makes these
announcements so that you and your husband can be prepared for the upcoming
garter toss or chicken dance.
If you want to try and save some money, see if your DJ can
play music for the ceremony as well as the reception if they are at the same
location.
