Give yourself
ample travel time. Get to the airport early in case planes were not able to
make it from the previous city due to poor weather conditions. Many times if
you are there early enough you can get switched to another airline and still
make your final destination.
Remember that
you must travel with a passport now! You may no longer return to the country
without a passport. A driver’s license and birth certificate alone will not
suffice.
Bring all your
paperwork with confirmation numbers for hotels, car rentals, etc. just in case
you are not in the computers, you have something in writing.
Make sure you
have the phone numbers and directions to the hotel.
Bring extra
batteries or your charger for your electronics including your cell phone,
laptop, and camera.
It’s a good
idea to bring a voltage converter or check with the hotel to see if their
electrical outlets are compatible.
You may want
to consider brining a portable alarm clock in case they are not provided in your
room.
Just in case
your bags get lost, pack an extra pair of clothes, toiletries, shoes, and your
swimsuit in your carry on baggage.
Check with the
FAA to see what products you can and can not bring on board
Keep in mind
when hurricane season is if you are traveling to the Caribbean. See what kind
of refunds/hurricane insurance is offered if the weather gets bad.
