Looking for a special way to honor those that
could not be with you on your wedding day? Why not add a flower to your bouquet
that stands out from the others! For example, if you are carrying white roses,
you may add two red roses and print on your program, “The two red roses in the
bride’s bouquet are in memory of grandma and grandpa who could not be with us
today.”
Many flowers and their pollen can stain. The
last thing that you want on your wedding day is to have a stain in the middle of
your dress from your bouquet. Be sure to consult with your florist to make sure
that the flowers you have chosen will not rub off on your dress or the
bridesmaid dresses.
Even if you think that you won’t cry, it is a
good idea to wrap a handkerchief around your bouquet. This way if you need to
blot the tears (or even pat your brow) your handkerchief is easily accessible.
This can be your “something borrowed” item!
Some florists will go to your wedding site and
make sure all the bouquets and arrangements did not get damaged while
transporting them. They will also pin the boutonnières on the groom and
groomsmen and add any flowers to your cake. Make sure to ask if your florist
performs this time saving task!
Have vases with water on hand to put all the
bridal party’s flowers in. This way the flowers will not wilt before the
ceremony and won’t be crushed from lying on their side. You can reuse these
vases if you are going to use the bridesmaid’s bouquets as centerpieces.
